Network Rail is the owner and operator of most of the rail infrastructure in Great Britain. The project ORBIS MDM is a major implementation of where they wanted to manage their core Asset Master Data (Meta and Content Data) as it’s considered critical to Network Rail’s business and to improve the Asset Information Organisation (AIO) and Asset management at Network Rail. The ORBIS MDM project is focused on below business objectives: - The improvement of asset data across Network Rail. - Support successful transformation of the rail industry to a devolved, Route-centric model whilst retaining a complete and consistent set of the asset information required at a National level. -To innovate by the use of mobile technology in the collection and use of asset data within the Route organisations. Responsibilities: • Involved in data Extraction, Transformation and Load the data using Informatica into Oracle Database. • Involved in the creation of mappings using various transformations like Source Qualifier, Expression, Aggregator, Joiner, Filter, Lookup, Update Strategy etc . ● Developed Mappings for Delta & SCD Type1 for Inbound and Outbound process. ● Done SQL performance tuning for overrides in source Qualifier. ● Monitor the sessions, Workflows using Informatica workflow manager and work flow monitor. ● Developed several reusable transformations and Mapplets for Ellipse & Geogis source systems. ● Mappings were designed to the utmost performance by optimizing expressions in expression editor of transformation, filtering source data at the source qualifier, and applying transformation logic. ● Identify the bugs in existing mapping by analyzing the data flow, evaluating the transformations and fixing the bugs. ● Used Debugger to debug the mappings for data load issues. ● Responsible for ETL Unit Testing and involved in SIT for fixing the issues.
