SCM Engineer (m/w)

The EMEA-distributed SCM (software change management) engineer is responsible for design, implementation and deployment of software development and migration processes on the open system side.

Collaborating with the application and technical architects in Bad Vilbel you will design, build, setup, rollout and maintain the distributed SCM processes.

Existing development and migration standards have to be modified or to be integrated in the new SCM/SDLC processes.

User and release 1st level and 2nd level support will be part of the daily work.

You need to be in intense contact to our security administrators, DBA, network Administrators, developers and off-shore GDC colleagues.

• Contribute in all phases of the distributed SCM/ SDLC work

• Leverage a deep knowledge of the CI process, automated builds and a variety of build tools to support the customer

• Support enterprise-level common build environment and architecture

• Consultancy within multiple projects

• Work across functional (development/testing, deployment, systems/infrastructure) and project teams to ensure continuous operation of build and test systems

• Report development progress to the Application Architect / Team Head

• Ability to present results and chosen development approaches

• Build / configure / develop solutions within the specified timelines.

• Enforce standards and best practices

• Responsible for user support regarding all web related SDLC processes

• Contribute during production handover process. Ensure success of setting new versions into production. On-Call duty for supporting the production handover process.

• Stay active and current in business technology trends, direction and innovation related to business process and technology areas of focus for the position.

• Contribute to overall team performance, including support and assistance of other team members where necessary

• Proactively seek opportunities to implement improvements to internal team processes

Das gesuchte Profil:

• Proven experience (6 years+) in Software developing (distributed side)

• Minimum 3+ years of distributed SCM/SDLC experience

• Strong problem solving, analytical and programming skills with a strong understanding of principles behind service-oriented architecture (SOA)

• Strong understanding of Continuous Integration Engineering and code branching / merging strategies

• Knowledge of the following SDLC products: Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, Maeven, Nexus, Sonar, Rundeck

• Strong scripting experiences with LINUX Bash

• Basic knowledge in relational databases, Linux, JBoss, Browser

• Excellent communication/problem solving skills/ troubleshooting and analysis skills

• Must be able to work in a high volume, fast paced, goal-oriented environment

• Must have strong initiative, be positive in approach and a quick learner

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English

• Ability to work independently, in a team environment and with others at all levels, and across geographical boundaries

• Strong personal commitment to department objectives
